Welcome to Indoor Track !

Indoor track and field competitions are held in adapted gymnasiums, which can easily accommodate high jump competitions and short track events. The facilities bear similarities with their outdoor equivalents. Typically, a central area is surrounded by a 200-meter oval track with four to eight lanes. Some tracks are banked at the turns to allow athletes to run around the radius more comfortably. Sometimes, there is also a second running track going straight across the field area, parallel to the straights of the main circuit. This track is used for the short sprints and hurdle events.

Training & Conditioning Sessions

Today, many young athletes participate in multiple sports programs.  Across all sports, flexibility, agility, strength, & speed (FASS) are the foundation of athletic success.   Our winter program is designed for  sprinters, runners, jumpers, & throwers seeking winter indoor competition as well as non-track athletes wanting to improve their FASS.  It allows athletes to maintain their fitness level between seasons, work on their form, and stay fit.winter program is led by Coach Collins.

Indoor Competition & Registration

The Mustangs Track Club supports the regional USATF, AAU, and open track meet venues throughout the winter.   Our goal is to provide access to a wide variety of meets for developing and competitive runners.  Any athlete interested in competing in winter meets need to be registered as USATF/AAU members.   If you are new to the Mustangs Track Club or USATF/AAU in general, you can establish your membership credentials by contacting our Secretary  Ms Robinson at 314-740-5875
