Welcome To the Mustangs Youth Track Club Team Website. Our hope and prayer is that all your questions and concerns are answered on the FAQ page. We look forward to meeting you and your athlete. This is a way for us to provide information about our organization as well as to keep you updated on upcoming and future events.


“Every morning in Saint Louis, the Mustang athletes wakes up, knowing that they must outrun the fastest team or we will be beaten. Every morning in Saint Louis, another team wakes up. It knows it must run and train harder than the Mustangs, or it will be beaten. It doesn't matter whether you're the Mustangs or another team -when you go to training, you'd better be training harder than your opponent.”

 We are a family friendly oriented Youth Track and Field Club/Team to help young athletes become stronger in areas of Discipline,Academics, Sportsmanship, Dedication, and Technically sound runners in their focused events. We are staffed with a well-experienced coaching team to make sure each "Mustang Objective" is achieved individually. The workouts are properly structured to target ALL athletes as they progress and for them to peak at the proper timing during the season. This program demands dedication and hard work from each individual, however we ensure that it is enjoyable to all. Getting involved with the Mustangs is a commitment, however we are flexible with other coinciding sport schedules and family vacations. Communication is Huge and is  recommended with the head coaches always!! 

 

The Mustangs Track Club is a part of the USA Track and Field Missouri Association (USATF) and the (AAU) Amateur Athletic Union  youth association,  Club Information. You do not have to have any special talents, just the will and desire to train and learn.  The mustangs is one of two teams  that offers all three competitive seasons in track and field which allows your child to maintain that perfect level of fitness  which allows you child to be better prepare for the Outdoor/Summer season. We also offer both Track and Field events when others only offer the Track aspects of it, our field events includes: Shot Put, Turbo Javelin/Javelin, Discus, Hammer throw, High Jump, Long Jump and Race Walking etc.... We here at the Mustangs Tack and Field Club offer all these events except to the pole vault, for this sport we send our kids out to be trained by another company for the Pole Vault.


With this being a club that participate in Cross Country, Indoor/Winter & Outdoor/Summer Track meets, it is a great opportunity for you to keep your children healthy and happy all year round! Track & field is great because it includes numerous events that offer children of all abilities numerous options to find their niche. Second, if you have a child who is not interested in traditional sports this is a great way to get them involved. However, if your child is involved with other sports, all the speed and explosiveness that track & field training offers is great for helping them excel at these other sports.

With Fall, Winter, and Summer Track Season right around the corner, I recommend that you start planning your kid’s/Athlete activities. With that in mind consider Cross Country,Indoor/Winter Track and Summer/outdoor track & field, I think you will be surprised at how fun and exciting it can be for them!

*COACHES: REMEMBER THAT ALL THE COACHES MUST UNDER GO TWO BACKGROUND CHECKS. THE FIRST BACK GROUND MUST BE DONE THROUGH THE USATF AFTER THAT SAID COACH MUST BECOME A USATF MEMBER BEFORE COACHING WITH OUR CLUB AND THE SECOND BACKGROUND WILL BE DONE THROUGH OUR ADMINISRATIVE STAFF TO ENSURE THAT WE HAVE THE BEST COACHES AND THAT YOUR CHILD/ ATHLETE IS SAFE WHILE RUNNING FOR OUR TEAM.




****What are the Mustangs Expectations of each Athlete****


Attitude

Come with a positive attitude and good sportsmanship.  

Be ready to work hard, listen and support fellow team members.  

Accept and understand the seriousness of your responsibility 

in representing your club and community.

Respect 

Disrespect and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.  

All athletes are expected to treat their fellow teammates with

respect and positive reinforcement. 

Respect the integrity and judgment of coaches and officials.  

They are doing their best to help promote you and your sport.  

Even if you disagree with their judgment, treating them with respect will 

only make a positive impression of you and your team.

Readiness 

Seasonal and weather appropriate running gear and water bottle are required.  

Athletes are expected to initiate their warm-up and stretching session

upon their arrival on the track.  Make a commitment to practicing at least three to four 

times per week in order to get and reap the real benefits out of running
